Complete transformation. Sometimes that’s what we’re hired to do, particularly with those signs that have been grandfathered past new and onerous municipal codes. In this case, the code called for a sign no more than eight feet in height — with any structural change requiring compliance. So while the frames couldn't be touched, everything had to be replaced — new sockets, ballasts and wiring. We had to take exact measurements of all the signs, including the radii of those rounded corners. We had to create pole covers that would look like they were part of the sign from the beginning. We even had to custom fit some new retainers. Looks pretty good, if we do say so ourselves. And the best part? A car isn’t going to block the price of unleaded from view.
